Eva Bernice McRaven

Eva Bernice McRaven, 85, of Jonesboro, died at 2:30 a.m. Saturday, June 6, 2020, at her daughter’s home in Thebes.

She was born on Oct. 8, 1934, in Olive Branch, the daughter of Barney and Hannah Hill Henderson.  

She married Don “Bullett” McRaven on Nov. 13, 1948. He preceded her in death on Oct. 1, 2017.

She was a very loving mother and grandmother.  Mrs. McRaven was a member of Valley Mission Pentecostal Church and dearly loved her church family. She enjoyed cooking for all of her family and fishing.

Survivors include five children, Donald W. (Mary) McRaven of Belknap, Darryl McRaven (Marsha Brown) of Jonesboro, Donna McRaven of Dongola, Diane Hudgins of Dongola and Daphene (Steve) Huffman of Thebes; 18 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and other relatives. 

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ted and Don Henderson; and four sisters, Daisy Kelly, Irene Franklin, Ludene Henderson and Angeline Boes.

Funeral services were at noon Wednesday, June 10, at Crain Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Paul Mayberry and the Rev. Billy Mayberry officiating. Interment was in McCrite Cemetery.

Crain Funeral Home in Tamms was in charge of arrangements.
