Franklin Henry Powles

Franklin Henry Powles, 79, of Anna, died at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 19, in the Jonesboro Rehab & Healthcare Center.

He was born November 21, 1937 in Union County, the son of Roy and Lorene (Allen) Powles. 

Franklin was a member of the Anna Heights Baptist Church. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force. 

He is survived by his children, Peter (Donna) Powles of New York, Janet Turner of Anna, Dana (Jackie) Powles of South Carolina; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; brother, Howard Powles of Dongola, sisters, Fern Thompson of Dongola, Louise Thompson of Mill Creek and Imogene Lynn of Marion.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Deloris Wilson; son-in-law, Alexander Turner.

Funeral services for Franklin Henry Powles will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25, in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Interment will be in St. Johns Cemetery with Pastor Darryl Williams officiating. Friends may call after 11 a.m. and until the service hour at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25, in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
