Frederick O. ‘Fred’ Lance

Frederick O. “Fred” Lance, 68, of Olmsted, died at 12:15 p.m. Monday, Feb. 8, 2021, at his residence.

Mr. Lance was born on July 19, 1952, in Anna, the son of William Alfred and Erma Lee English Lance.

He was a custodian for  the Meridian School District for over 10 years. He enjoyed collecting garden tractors as a hobby, and he named each one of them. 

On Feb. 9, 1973, in Pulaski, he married Nancy Stringer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Cheryl Lance; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Carl E. and Carol Stringer; and a brother, Terris Edward Lance, on Nov. 24, 2017.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Nancy Lance of Olmsted; a son, Frederick Scott Lance of Pulaski; a daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and Brandon Beauchamp of Olmsted; a granddaughter, Charleigh Beauchamp; a brother, Willis Lance, and wife, Patsy of Olmsted; a sister, Donna Myrick, and husband, Freddie of Karnak; a brother-in-law, Mike Stringer of Pulaski; a sister-in-law, Tracy Lance of Olmsted; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, at Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge, with Pastor Mike Sharp officiating. Graveside services were Sunday, Feb. 14, at 2 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery in Pulaski. Inurnment followed.
