Gayle Dillow Conant
Gayle Dillow Conant, 96, of Rochester Hills, Mich., and formerly of Jonesboro and Flat Rock, N.C., died Monday, Dec. 18, 2017, at her home.
She was born on Jan. 11, 1921, in Jonesboro, the daughter of Van and Ella Dillow.
She was married on April 5, 1942, to John Conant. He preceded her in death on Oct. 17, 2009.
She was a school teacher and had worked in accounting. She had been a member of First United Methodist Church in Hendersonville, N.C., since 1942. She had taught Sunday School and was active in women’s church circles. She was a golfer, and enjoyed gardening, traveling and playing bridge. She wanted to be remembered for her love for her family and nature.
Survivors include her daughters, Suzanne Kropfreiter of Fraser, Mich., and Sally Harris of Wethersfield, Conn.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Kifton Dillow of Columbia, Mo., several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Besides her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn Dillow Fuller, and two brothers, Rex Dillow and Don Dillow.
Services for Gayle (Dillow) Conant will be held privately by the family at St. John’s Cemetery near Dongola.
