Helen Jennette Stevens

Helen Jennette Stevens, 93, of Dongola, died Monday, Aug. 26, 2019, at Union County Hospital Long Term Care in Anna. 

She was born on June 4, 1926, in Wetaug, the daughter of Tilden B. and Ruth Lentz Crader.  

She is survived by her children, Judith (William) Etherton of Dongola, Becht (Lorraine) Stevens of Port Orange, Fla., and Jeanette (Richard) Bowman of Aurora, Colo.; grandchildren Steven (Heather) Etherton, Angela (Hans) Kunstwadl, Andrew Bowman, Laura (Irvin)  Macdougal and Audrey (Vasil) Antanasov; five great-grandchildren, Julia Etherton, Lily Kunstwadl, Parker Macdougal, Isabel Macdougal and Mateo Gabriel; a sister, Zetta Ramsey of Anna. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and  by six siblings. 

She enjoyed her work throughout the years. Helping others was an important part of her life. Helen enjoyed reading, especially western novels. She was a devoted mother to her children, always loving and giving, and put them before anything else. She found pleasure in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her presence will be missed but her spirit of love and kindness will always remain.
