Howard Stanley Cox

Howard Stanley Cox, 71, of Thebes, died at 7:10 a.m. Friday, March 11, 2022, at his residence.

Mr. Cox was born on June 24, 1950, in Cairo, the son of Huie and Juanita Miller Cox.

He retired from the Illinois Department of Transportation.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and by his brother, Errol Flynn Cox, in 2015.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Cox; children Jason Roach, Lauren Hobart, Kimberly Holtgrave, Mark Carleton and Matthew Carleton; a sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Alan Kerr; a sister-in-law, Donna Cox; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 18, at Hanover Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau. Pastor Benkendorf will officiate.
