Hunter Allen Johnson

Hunter Allen Johnson, of Centralia, Ill., 62, made his transition from this life on Friday, Jan. 8,  2021.  

Hunter was born in Mounds, Ill., on Jan. 17, 1958, the son of Eleanor Johnson Childress and Tynch Johnson.

Surviving are his brothers, LeAyron (Bobbie) Johnson and Terry (Cathryn) Childress; his sisters, Jo Johnson-Hunter, Cheryl (Lewis) West and Yma Copeland; his aunts, Alsandra Lewis and Rosie Nixon; and cousins, nephews and nieces.

Hunter was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Billie Johnson, Vivian Johnson and infant Moira Johnson; his brothers, Kenneth Johnson and infant Vincent Johnson; his stepfather, Willie Childress; and a stepbrother, Dana Childress.

Due to the pandemic, a memorial service celebrating his life will be held on March 13, 2021, at the  Best Western Plus Centralia Hotel & Suites starting at 11 a.m. Masks are required.
