James Edward Jackson III

James Edward Jackson III, 74, of Jonesboro, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2019, at Union County Hospital in Anna. 

He was born on Sept. 11, 1944, in Granite City, the son of James E. Jackson Sr. and June Delores McMillan Jackson. 

When his father died, he was lovingly raised by stepdad, Charles and June Dolores McMillan Lipscomb Sr. He married Mariann Sadler on April 25, 1983, in Marion.  

He is survived by his wife, Mariann (Sadler) Jackson; his son, David (Christen) Jackson of Jonesboro; daughter Jennifer Jackson of Virginia Beach, Va.; son James (Robyn) Jackson of Brownsburg, Ind.; daughter Jaime (Kevin) Hall of Herrin; grandchildren Nate Moss, Blake Jackson, Marshall Jackson, Christian Rawlinson, Landon Jackson, Tyler Jackson, Gage Aleong, Katie Kerr and Andrew Aleong; sisters Maria (Martin) Hubbard of Effingham, Judy (Mike) McClendon of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and Rebecca (Scott) Oelke of Tulsa, Okla.; a brother, Charles Lipscomb; an uncle, Harry McMillan of Paragould, Ark.;  an aunt, Betty Lyons; other relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, James E. Jackson Sr.; and by his stepdad Charles and June Dolores (McMillan) Lipscomb Sr.  

He attended the Full Gospel Pentecostal Church in Alto Pass. He owned Jim’s Towing Service in Carbondale.

Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Full Gospel Pentecostal Church in Alto Pass, with the Rev, Bill Carter officiating. Interment was in Casper Cemetery near Anna.
