James Wiggs Sr.
James Wiggs Sr, 81, of Odin, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2021, at Odin Health and Rehab.
He was born on May 31, 1940, in Jonesboro, the son of Vertus and Margaret Foher Wiggs.
He married Alice Miller on May 30, 1964, in Harrington, Kan. She preceded him in death on March 10, 2018.
Mr. Wiggs served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a railroad engineer for over 41 years.
He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Jonesboro. He was a dedicated father and grandfather. He had a love for all animals and birds. He loved his wife dearly and looked forward to reuniting with her in Heaven.
Mr. Wiggs is survived by his son, James Jr. (Gail) Wiggs of Dix; grandchildren Joshua, Emilee and Jacob Wiggs, Dean and Matt Renaud and Lynette Glover; great-grandchildren Judah and Keziah Wiggs; sisters Shirley Reitz of Flagstaff, Ariz., and Linda Howard of Vanlue, Ohio; many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Alice Wiggs.
Graveside funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 19, at Ebenezer Hall Cemetery, with Matt Renaud officiating.
Military funeral honors were accorded by the VFW’s Carroll P. Foster Post No. 3455 in Anna and the Illinois Army National Guard military honors team of Marion.
