Jane Ellen Yates
Jane Ellen Yates, 89, of Mt. Pleasant, died Monday, May 3, 2021, at her home. She was born May 6, 1931, in Cobden, the daughter of Claude and Hazel Bilderbeck Anderson.
She married Jesse Lee Yates on Jan. 12, 1951, in Cobden. He preceded her in death on Sept. 30, 2015.
Mrs. Yates is survived by her three sons, Thomas L. Yates of Cobden, Ronald D. Yates and Dennis S. Yates, both of Mt. Pleasant; four grandchildren, Tommy Yates of Perryville, Mo., Andrew Yates of Cobden, Sam Yates of Vienna and Charity Yates of St. Louis; eight great-grandchildren, Whitney Nations, Michael, Jesse, Tyler, Autumn, Addison, Eathan and Mayla Yates; three great-great-grandchildren, Harlee and Eleanor Nations and Matthew Yates; many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jesse Lee Yates; and a sister, Shirley Wagner.
Mrs. Yates was a member of Anna Heights Baptist Church in Anna for many years. She loved to travel and to raise a vegetable garden with her husband.
