Jeanette D. Wuyster

Jeanette D. Wuyster, 100, of Dongola, died at 5:25 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at Union County Hospital in Anna.

She was born on Jan. 11, 1917, in Dongola, the daughter of Samuel and Susie Hargus Dillow.

She married C. Christian “Chris” Wuyster on Dec. 23, 1943. He preceded her in death on Feb. 6, 2002.

She worked in the payroll department with the United States government Veteran’s Administration. She and Chris spent their entire married life in Laurel, Md. She was a very active member of the First United Methodist Church in Laurel. She enjoyed traveling with Presley Tours, sewing, gardening and working puzzles.

She is survived by her nephews, Joe (Josephine) Montgomery of Branson, Mo., Tim (Debi) Peavy of Bowling Green, Ky., and David Peavy; a niece, Noel (John) Connell; great-nephews Duane (Tammy) Hoffner of Dongola, Tony Montgomery of Salt Lake City, Utah, Joel Peavy of Phoenix, Ariz., Bart (Christi) Peavy of Gulfport, Miss., John (Laura) Connell and Jordan (Kidder) Connell; great-nieces Cindy (Barry) Martin of Atoka, Tenn., Vicki (Ron) Fuentes of Dongola, Victoria Hawkins, Kelly (Josh) Vess, McKenzie (Adam) Snavely, Crystal Peavy and Samantha Bigelow; and several other great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Chris Wuyster; two sisters, Marie Montgomery and Murchie Hoffner; two infant sons; and one nephew, Victor Hoffner.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 21, at Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro, with the Rev. Tim Heinecke officiating. Interment was in Friendship Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
