Jerry Wayne Osman
Jerry Wayne Osman, 71, of Louisville, Ky., died on Dec. 24, 2017, peacefully at home.
He was born on Aug. 1, 1946, in Anna, the son of Wayne and Opal Waters Osman.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Osman.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Jasmin (Burdin) Osman; daughters Jamie Osman (Kevin Toole), Tia (Osman) Brown (Thad); mother Opal (Waters) Osman; brother Terry Osman (Sharon); three grandchildren Caitlin (Brown) Hodnefield (Luke), Cassidy Brown and Josiah Brown.
He is also survived by his nephews Eric Osman (Janice) and Shane Osman (Jennifer); two great-nieces, Addison and Avery Osman; and two great-nephews, Bryce and Gavin Osman.
Over the years, Mr. Osman held several different jobs, including a patrolman for the Carbondale Police Department, where he met his future wife, Jasmin, whom he married on Dec. 28, 1974, in Makanda.
He eventually found his calling in sales and was employed for over 30 years, retiring in January, 2009. After retirement, he enjoyed playing golf, traveling and playing electronic games.
His family said he was one of the kindest people you could have met and had a wonderful sense of humor. He was very devoted to his family.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 235 Juneau Dr., Louisville, Ky. 40243.
His funeral ceremony will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, at the funeral home, with private burial to follow.
