Juanita Kathleen (Granny) Woolridge

Juanita Kathleen Woolridge, 86, of Jonesboro, died Saturday, Dec. 19, 2020, at Herrin Hospital. She died as a result of the coronavirus.

She was born on Nov. 16, 1934. She was the daughter of Charles and Dora Smith of Scott City, Mo.

Kathleen married Robert (Bob) Woolridge on July 27, 1951. Mr. Woolridge passed away on June 20, 2015. They had four children.

She is survived by one son, Donald (Danna Pendergast) Woolridge of Christopher; two daughters, Deborah (Kent) Howerton of Mt. Pleasant and Cathie Up Church of Walnut Grove, Ark. She is survived by five grandchildren, Stephanie (Joel) Diers of Springfield, Robbie Woolridge of Carbondale, Gaylon and R.J. Simmons of Walnut Grove, Ark., and Ashley Up Church of Arkansas. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Aliyah and Mason Diers of Springfield and Holden Woolridge of Carbondale. She is also survived by three sisters, Joan, Annie and Sharon; and two brothers, Danny and David.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Ronald; three brothers, Mac, Alfred and Johnny; and two sisters, Audrey and Imogene.

She was a retired LPN. She worked at Union County Skilled Nursing Home for years. 

As per her wishes, she was cremated. Due to the coronavirus there will not be a public funeral. Private graveside services will be later.
