Larry ‘Frog’ Simmerman
Larry “Frog” Simmerman, 69, of Dongola, died at 8:20 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017, at his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born on April 9, 1948, in Union County, the son of Henry Levi and Gladys Geneva Lyerla Simmerman.
He married Shirley Dillow on Jan. 27, 1967.
He was a 1966 graduate of Dongola High School. He drove a truck for over 50 years and his CB handle was “Frog.” He was a member of the Dongola Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Simmerman of Dongola; children Tammy L. Smith of Dongola, Larry “Buster” (Misty) Simmerman of Uliin, and Rachel (Joe) Flick of Cobden; 19 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Donald Dean Simmerman; and two infant sisters.
Funeral services for Larry “Frog” Simmerman were at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola, with the Rev. Larry Jordan officiating. Interment was in St. John’s Cemetery near Dongola.
