Larry Eddleman

Larry Eddleman, 66, of Dongola, died at 3:24 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2018, at his home.

He was born on July 20, 1951, in Cairo, the son of Edwin Gustav and Imogene Keller Eddleman.

He married Kimberly Pickett on Oct. 5, 1985.

He was a 1969 graduate of Dongola High School and a 1973 graduate of Murray  State University He was an avid farmer his entire life. He belonged to the Dongola Fire Department for 48 years and was very strong in community involvement. He served on the 911 Board for several years and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dongola.

He is survived by his wife, Kim Eddleman of Dongola; nine cousins, Sharon Hicks of White Bear Lake, Minn., Edith Tompkins of Tennessee, Barbara (Deon) Davis of Dongola, Sarah Keller of Cape Girardeau, Meghan Hicks of Moab, Utah, Corey Hicks of White Bear Lake, Minn., Kevin Tompkins of Tennessee, Belinda Hatfield of Anna and Debbie Redcloud of Missouri; a sister-in-law, Kelly (Ken) Stevens of Murphysboro; brothers-in-law Patrick (Claire) Downing of Maine and Shawn Pickett of Auburn, Mass.; nieces Kayla Clarke, Kimberly Downing, Holly Downing and Ashlee Pickett; and nephews Dustin Hoffman and Austin Pickett.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Lee Closser; and his father-in-law, Patrick Pickett.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola, with Brent Miller officiating. Interment was in the American Legion Cemetery in Dongola.

Memorials can be made to the Dongola Fire Department.
