Larry Mooney
Larry Mooney, 75, of Carbondale, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2022.
He was born on March 16, 1947, in Jackson, Miss., the son of Thomas and Eva Elizabeth Eubanks Mooney.
He married Brenda Boyer on Nov. 10, 1970, in Marion.
He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Mooney of Carbondale; a daughter, Jill (Brian) Hennessey of Carbondale; two granddaughters, Eve and Paige Hennessey; a brother-in-law, Ed Boyer of Sterling; three sisters-in-law, Judy (Deon) Boner of Creal Springs, Debbie Boyer of Marion and Janet McDowell of Florida; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and by numerous brothers and sisters.
He was of the Baptist faith and was a devoted man of God. He adored his family and always cherished spending time with them. He was well known for his generous spirit and was always willing to help others in need.
He retired from Maytag in Herrin after 34 years of service and enjoyed woodworking in his spare time.
A private family graveside service was held at the Cobden Cemetery on Saturday, Nov. 26.
