Lillian Mae Smith Allen Robert

Lillian Mae Smith Allen Robert, 90, of Marissa, and formerly of Anna, was born on Feb. 14, 1932, in Alto Pass, the daughter of Willie and Nora Getting Smith. 

She walked on peacefully at home with her family and friends around her at 6:12 a.m. Thursday, June 9, 2022.

She married Harry B. Allen in June 1948. To that union, four children were born. 

She is survived by those children, Deanna B.J. Allen, of Dayton, Ohio, Wilma Lee (Edward) Bartlett of Cahokia, Steven R. (Kathy) Allen of Marissa and Bruce W. (Brenda) Allen of Freeburg.

She was blessed with seven grandchildren, Julia Brooks and Danny R. Carter Jr., both of Dayton, Ohio, Threasa Graham of Marion, Steven R. Allen II of Red Bud, Jeremiah J. Allen of Godfrey, Brandie J. Brusco of Pocahontas and Brittney J. Allen of Freeburg; 18 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; her fur baby, Sam; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, James Matthew Graham; and her siblings, Estelle Hancock, Esther Willcut, William H. “Dago” Smith and Carl L. “Yogi” Smith.

She married Bruno F. Robert in Anna in 1971. While living in Southern Illinois, she worked at the Florsheim Shoe Factory in Anna.

Funeral services for Lillian Robert were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Interment followed in Beech Grove Cemetery near Wolf Lake.
