Lizzie Iona LaCroix

Lizzie Iona LaCroix, 86, of Dongola, died at 4:40 a.m. Monday, Sept. 5, 2016, at Anna Rehab and Nursing.

She was born on Nov. 1, 1929, in Dongola, the daughter of Willie and Nellie Powlis Phalin.

She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed crosswords, camping and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Terry Miller of Dongola; grandsons Larry (Terra) Miller Jr. of Dongola, Nathan Miller of Washington and Chad Miller of Dongola; granddaughters Kim Miller of Carlinville, Tiffany (Larry) Gore of Jonesboro and Lisa Ezell of Brighton; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, William Ray (Marlene) Phalin of Dongola; nieces, nephews and many other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mary Smith; brothers Clifford and Joe Phalin; sons Norman, Jimmie and Larry Miller Sr.; a daughter, Karen Sheppard; and a granddaughter, Tammy Clopp.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, Sept. 9, at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola.

Funeral services will be at noon at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola with the Rev. Jack Richardson officiating. Interment will follow in St. John’s Cemetery near Dongola.
