Lucille Dale

Lucille Dale, 91, of Dongola, died Friday, March 27, 2020, at Manor Court in Carbondale.

She was born on May 26, 1928, in Dongola, the daughter of William Luther and Mary Ellen Cook Baker.  

She married Guy Dale on Feb. 15, 1946. He preceded her in death on May 19, 2007. 

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dongola. She was an Army wife. During the war, she worked outside of the home but then was a homemaker.

Survivors include her son, Norman (Diane) Dale; daughter Sharon Dale; three grandchildren, Jennifer (Luke) Lyerla, Mariah (Greg) Anderson and Blake (Karen) Dale; three great-grandchildren, Sophie Barnhart, Samuel Dale, and Annabeth Dale; sister Violet DeGroate; and sisters-in-law, Rita Dale, Joanne Dale and Dona Dale.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Geraldine Fisher; and a brother, Fred Baker.

Private graveside services will be held at American Legion Cemetery, with the Rev. Donald Fisher officiating.

Memorials can be made to American Legion Cemetery. Envelopes will be available at the cemetery or can be mailed to Crain Funeral Home, 135 W. Vienna St., Anna, Ill. 62906.
