Lylle Thomas ‘Tiny’ Murphy
Lylle Thomas “Tiny” Murphy, 84, of Cairo, died at 4:14 p.m. Monday, May 4, 2020, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born on Feb. 20, 1936, in Mounds, the son of Ray and Viola “Vina” Reno Murphy.
Mr. Murphy was an entrepreneur; and was the owner and operator of Murphy Trucking Company for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother, Donald Murphy.
Survivors include his daughter, Tini Lynn Murphy McDonald and husband, Jay Todd McDonald of West Moreland, Tenn.; grandchildren Wesley (Kalie) McDonald and Brendy (Thad) McDonald Gingerich; brothers Leon Murphy of Cape Girardeau and Bobby Murphy of Garden Plains, Kan.; sister Peggy Murphy Parks of Deerfield Park, Fla.; special niece Melinda Murphy Bigham of Tamms; other relatives and friends.
Due to health concerns related to the COVID-19 virus and by the signing of the executive order by Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, private family graveside funeral services were at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 7, at Green Lawn Memorial Gardens in Villa Ridge, with the Rev. Jay Todd McDonald officiating. Interment followed.
