Margaret G. Prewitt Lavender

Margaret G. Prewitt Lavender, 85, of Hurst, and formerly of Cobden, died Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016, at Shawnee Christian Nursing Home.

She was born on July 7, 1931, the daughter of William Delbert (Doc) and Ethel Margaret Barker Prewitt in Cobden.

She married Roy Lavender and he preceded her in death.

Before a decline in health, she held active memberships with the American Legion Auxiliary, the VFW Auxiliary and the Lions Club.

She is survived by her son, Richard (Debbi) Kolk of Benton; a daughter, Kinda Ruth (Don) Kolk-Walters of Hurst; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy Lavender; a sister, Ruth Prewitt; a brother, William John Prewitt; and a grandson, William Leslie Kolk.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lavender were Wednesday, Sept. 14, at 11 a.m. at Crain Pleasant Grove-Murdale Funeral Home, with Richard Kolk officiating. Interment followed in Casper Cemetery near Anna.
