Margaret Maxine Stone

Margaret Maxine Stone, 87, of Anna, died at 8:35 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018, at Union County Hospital.

She was born on Aug. 2, 1930, in Union County, the daughter of Elmer K. and Cora Belle Kelley Whitley.

She married Delbert Dean Stone, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by one son, Michael (Anita) Stone of Jonesboro; a daughter, D. Susan Isom of Cypress, Texas; eight grandchildren, Stephanie (Brian) Lingle, Amber (Sean) Belcher, Dusti Stone (Trevor Williams), Brad Isom, Shane Isom, Casie (Jeremiah) Bass, Codie (Shawn) McKay and Nick (Jade) Isom; 12 great-grandchildren; Joe Wilson, who was like a son; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Madeline Phillips; and a brother, William “Bill” Whitley.

She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary. She loved traveling to many places and taking pictures. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Funeral services for Margaret Maxine Stone were at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 21, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with the Rev. Brian Lingle officiating. Interment was in the St. John’s Cemetery near Dongola.
