Marjorie Leota Emery
Marjorie Leota Emery, 82, of Anna, died on April 29, 2018, at her home in Anna.
She was born on Dec. 8, 1935, in Tamms, the daughter of Lewis Frederick and Estella Brown McDaniel.
She married Dariel E. “Bud” Emery on Dec. 22, 1953. He preceded her in death on Oct. 4, 2016.
Mrs. Emery started working at Chicago Bank and Trust in the 1950s. She then went to Barber Coleman. Later she retired from Kysor in Byron.
She enjoyed visiting with her friends, collecting rocks, camping, fishing and “wildlife watching” from her back deck. She worshipped at Camp Ground Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Daryl Jean (Rick) Messenger of Byron; grandchildren Gary Lee Treese of Byron and Melissa Ann Phillips of Mt. Morris; great-granddaughters Curissa and Corie Phillips; sisters-in-law Patricia Carter of Byron and Marlene Emery of Dixon; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers Lewis McDaniel, Loren “Red” McDaniel and Gordon McDaniel; and a sister, Susan Jacox.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, today, at Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 4, at Camp Ground Cemetery, with the Rev. Joe Vance officiating.
