Martha V. Brown
Martha V. Brown, 91, of Dongola, died at 5 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 2018, at Union County Nursing Home in Anna.
She was born on Jan. 9, 1927, in Pulaski County, the daughter of Henry and Ollie Stoner Schultz.
She married Calvin A. Brown on Aug. 19, 1950. He preceded her in death on July 2, 1999.
She was a very warm and loving person. Since 1959, she had lived on the family farm in Dongola. She loved to attend family functions and treasured spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She attended the Mt. Zion Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Vickie Brown of Eustis, Fla., and Rosita (Ken) Taake of Ullin; a son, Phillip (Linda) Brown of Dongola; grandchildren Bryan (Beth) Hurley of Eustis, Fla., Tracey (Wally) Warren of Glendale Heights, Heather (Tim) Pruett of Mt. Dora, Fla., Jennifer (Dennis) Herren of Dongola, Erin (Brandon) King of Olmsted, and Bethany (Lucas) Klein of Chesterfield, Mo.; 14 great-grandchildren, Logan and Lawson Hurley, Jack Webster, Colton Hurley, Kycen Pruett, Trigg Webster, Amelia Hurley, Sadie Pruett, Blake Herren, Braden Warren, Alexander Klein, Kole King, Roselyn Klein, and Ethan King; a brother, Henry (Janet) Schultz of Collinsville, a brother-in-law, Carl Marrs of Texas; and sisters-in-law Carrie Schultz of Dongola and Leona Brown of Dongola.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant daughter, Phyllis; twin grandsons Jason and Jeffrey Hurley; two great-grandsons, Maddox Warren and Brock King; two sisters and six brothers.
Funeral services for Martha Brown were at 10 a.m. Monday, April 30, at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola, with Donna Davenport officiating. Interment was in the American Legion Cemetery in Dongola.
