Mary Edna Butler

Mary Edna Butler, 75, of Dongola, and formerly of Spring Hill, Ark., died on Feb. 20, 2019, at her home in Dongola. 

She was born on June 10, 1943, in Bokchito, Okla., the daughter of Clarence and Bessie Evans Knighton. 

She was a very loving person with a feisty character.  She enjoyed reading and doing word searches.  She was of the Assembly of God following.

She is survived by her daughters Rebecca (Allen) Stewart of Dongola and Debra (Mike) Balch of Fayetteville, Ark.; sons Billy Hamm and Jeff (Janet) Hamm, both of Hope, Ark.; 10 grandchildren, Sarah Maska, Timothy Balch, Codi Hamm, Conner Hamm, Damion Hamm, Vassili Hamm, Brandon Stewart, Ty Stewart, Matthew Stewart and Angela Hicks; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters Barbara Terry of Hope, Ark., and Priscilla (Richard) Pipkens of Delight, Ark.; and her significant other, David Etheridge of Spring Hill, Ark.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a  brother, Marion Ray Knighton; a grandson, Matthew Stewart; a daughter-in-law, Erie Hamm; and a brother-in-law, Travis Terry.

Cremation was accorded. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Water Creek Cemetery in Guernsey, Ark.
