Mary Jean Pace Proffitt, 94, of Metropolis, died at 2:35 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017, at Southgate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Graveside services were at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at the Antioch Cemetery in Rosebud. Dr. Joe Buchanan officiated.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Metropolis and the Flight 9 Jayco camping club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Lula Chaney Gross; her first husband, Earl Pace; her second husband, Norman Proffitt; an infant son; and a sister, Gladys Jennings.
