Mary M. Kula
Mary M. Kula, 101, of Anna, passed away Saturday, Dec. 12, 2020, at the Union County Hospital Long Term Care Facility.
She was born on Oct. 25, 1919, in Dongola, the daughter of Charles Lester and Pearl Eddleman Brown.
She married Joseph Stanley Kula on Dec. 10, 1946. He preceded her in death on March 5, 1977.
Mary is survived by her children, Charles L. (Sheryl Anne) Kula and Mary Jo (Michael) Miller; grandchildren Clinton Joseph (Kari) Miller of Valley Park, Mo., Natalie Michelle (Russell) Miller Holstine of Milan, Ill., Stephanie Anne Kula and Stacie Anne (Andrew) Kula Webb, all of Littleton, Colo.; great-grandchildren Marilee and Cora Holstine, Madeline Anne Webb and a new great-grandchild is expected in January; a brother-in-law, Grant Taylor; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Donald Joseph Kula; her parents and her siblings, Anita Holshouser, June Taylor, Charles Brown, as well as an infant brother.
She was a graduate of Dongola High School and the registered nurse program at St. Mary’s Hospital in Cairo. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Anna, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Retired Nurses Association.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Anna, with Father Uriel Salamanca officiating.
Interment followed at 2 p.m. at St. Michael Catholic Cemetery in Radom.
