Mary Sheeley
Mary Frances Sheeley, 100, of Anna, died on Aug. 7, 2018, at Union County Hospital in Anna.
She was born on Feb. 15, 1918, in Cobden, the daughter of Robert and Mabel Kelly Clutts.
She married Glenn Sheeley on May 21, 1939. He preceded her in death on Oct. 29, 1965.
She retired from the Choate Mental Health and Developmental Center in 1983 as a telephone operator.
She was a faithful and devoted servant at First Christian Church of Anna for over 68 years. She served the church as a deaconess, treasurer and pianist and was an active member in the ladies group.
She is survived by her son, John (Barbara) Sheeley of Clinton Township, Mich.; three daughters-in-law, Cathy Sheeley of Anna, Eileen Stanton and Christy Sheeley, both of St. Louis; seven grandchildren, Steven (Winnie) Sheeley, Linda (Michael Spatzek) Sheeley, Trisha (Arno Pascal) Sheeley, Bill (Karla) Sheeley, Angie Sheeley, MaryAnn (Chris) Goodson and Michael (Aeron) Sheeley; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.
She had two special feline friends, Susie and Gracie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sons William Reed Sheeley and Richard Sheeley; a daughter, Linda Sue; and her brother, Robert Clutts.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, at Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro, with Bill Littrell officiating. Interment was in the Anna City Cemetery.
