Michael Edward ‘Mike’ Talaga

Michael Edward “Mike” Talaga, 53, of rural Dongola, died at his home on June 4, 2017.

He was born on May 4, 1964, in Fort Knox, Ky., the son of Stanley James and Marilyn Peterson Talaga.

He grew up in Hanover Park, but spent his last few years with his family in Dongola. He enjoyed outdoors and watching Bears football.

He is survived by his three daughters, Erika, Megan and Melissa Talaga, all of Northern Illinois; two grandchildren, James Thonn and Isaak Talaga; two sisters, Cindy (Roger) Beauchamp and Tracy Sparrow, both of Dongola; nieces, nephews; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He worked for many years in the printing industry. Since moving to Southern Illinois, he worked for Trainor Ag Products and loved his new career as a truck driver.

According to his wishes, he will be cremated and the family will have a small, private memorial service to celebrate his life.
