Nancy Sheffer-Johnson
Nancy Sheffer-Johnson, age 72, a resident of Spanish Oaks in Anna, and formerly of Dongola, died Sunday, May 16, 2021, at 2 a.m. at Integrity Healthcare of Anna.
She was born on Nov. 1, 1948, in Anna, the daughter of Clyde Oral and Anna Louise Halstenberg Sheffer.
Nancy was a quiet, soft spoken lady who was a friend to everyone. She had a love for big hats, fashion jewelry and bright colors. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Dongola and the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her cousins, Mary Sheffer-Taylor of Metropolis, James (Glenda) Sheffer of Olmsted, Ruth (Earl) Sheffer-Myhre of Mounds, Donnie (Sherry) Sheffer Sr. of Olmsted, Jane Ellen Hard-Cox, Bonita Hard, Norman Hard, Phyllis Hard-Nevitt and Steve Hard, all of Peoria, and many great cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde Oral and Anna Louise Sheffer; and by a brother in infancy, Dwight Louis.
Graveside services were held at Friendship Cemetery in Dongola on Friday, May 21, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Carol Johnson officiating.
Memorials can be made to the activities fund at Spanish Oaks and will be accepted at the funeral home.
Crain Funeral Home in Dongola was in charge of arrangements.
