Oliver G. Ridgway

Oliver G. Ridgway, 81, of Anna, died Sunday, April 3, 2022, at the Marion Veterans Community Living Center.  

He was born on Nov. 18, 1940, in Anna, the son of Donald and Velda Mae Green Ridgway. 

He married Glenda Sloan, who preceded him in death on Dec. 21, 1999. He later married Phyllis Womack, who also preceded him in death on Oct. 20, 2010.  

Mr. Ridgway served in the U.S. Army. He worked for over 39 years at Kroger as a meat cutter. He was a member of the Jonesboro First Baptist Church. 

He is survived by his friend, Charlene Fairless of Jonesboro; cousins Darla Dobbins of Cumming, Ga., Debby Beckinger of Nashville, Ind., Randy Brown of Nashville, Ind., and Deanna Wilson of St. Charles, Mo.; second cousin Bobby Spicer of Creal Springs; best friend Robert “Cal” Gallaghan of Lake Clear, N.Y.; many other relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by wife Glenda Ridgway; wife Phyllis Ridgway; a brother, Steven Ridgway; and a sister, Brenda Ridgway.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna, with Bill Littrell officiating. Interment will be in the Cobden Cemetery in Cobden.  

Friends can call from 11 a.m. until the service hour at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.  

Military funeral honors will be accorded by Carroll P. Foster Post No. 3455 of the VFW in Anna and the Illinois Army National Guard military honors team of Marion.
