Patricia J. Taylor

Patricia J. Taylor, 89, of Cape Girardeau, and formerly of Mounds, died at 10:22 a.m. on July 13, 2018, at Life Care Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born on April 9, 1929, in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of George and Blanche Alice Caudle Britt.  

She married Carl Taylor on June 10, 1947.

She was a graduate of Mound City High School and lived in Olmsted.  She was a long-time employee of Sears, Roebuck and Company.  

She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau.  

She is survived by her two sons, Steve (Jann) Taylor of Anna and Scott Taylor of Olathe, Kan.; one daughter, Nancy Randolph of McClure; seven grandchildren, Jeffrey, Steven, Kyle, Ethan, Megan, Bradley and Matthew; nine great-grandchildren; a nephew, Dr. Fred Britt of Kentucky; a niece, Teresa Inman of Virginia; sisters-in-law Joan Martin and Evelyn Taylor, both of Cape Girardeau; and other family members.

Her K-9 companion was Lucy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl; a son, Stanley Taylor, and an infant son; and a brother, George Britt Jr.

Funeral Mass for Patricia J. Taylor was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau, with Father Rick Jones officiating. Interment followed in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Mounds.
