Paul D. Penrod

Paul D. Penrod, 67, of Mt. Vernon, died on April 22, 2020, at Odin Health Care Center in Odin.

He was born on July 6, 1952, in Anna, the son of Ernie and Roxie Lingle Penrod.  

He married Paula Ellis, and she survives in Mt. Vernon.

Mr. Penrod worked for Coldwell Banker Real Estate. He attended Zion United Methodist Church.  He was a member of the Bluford Ruritan Club.

In addition to his wife, Paula Penrod of Mt. Vernon, he is survived by two stepchildren, Stacie Chambliss and husband Jack of Mt. Vernon and Shawn Poole and wife Shana of Opdyke; four grandchildren, Raquel Minor, Dakota Minor, Kaleb Poole and Ed Poole; a mother-in-law, Wilma Ellis;  and one half-sister, Christy Barnhart of Granite City.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by one nephew.

Cremation rites for Mr. Penrod will be accorded and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
