Paul Everett Bucher Jr.

Paul Everett Bucher Jr.

“The best portion of a good man’s life, his little nameless unremembered acts of kindness and love.” – William Wordsworth

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Paul Everett Bucher Jr.  Paul passed away on April 2, 2024, at Lourdes Hospice Care Center in Paducah, Ky. His daughter, son and brother were by his side.

Paul was born on March 13, 1945.

Paul attended St. Mary’s Catholic school in Mounds, Illinois, and graduated from Mounds Township High school in 1964. His early friendships with these classmates and friends from Mounds continued to be some of his most cherished memories. In his last days he continued to tell stories about these friends and times past. It is by these friends Paul is remembered as a true and caring friend, quick with humor, and a gentleman always willing to help anyone in need. A constant friend.

Paul Everett Bucher Jr. spent his adult life in the Chicago area as an auto salesman recognized for multiple sales and customer service awards over the years including sales person of the year several times.

He met and married Mary Hanson on November 2, 1979. They remained married until her death in 2000.

Paul enjoyed singing, playing golf, reading autobiographies and political books. He looked forward to gathering weekly with cherished friends in Evergreen Park and especially enjoyed his many trips south to be with friends and family. He resided near Chicago, but he “lived” in Southern Illinois.

Above all, times dearest to Paul were spent with his daughter, Tammy, and his son, Gerald.

Paul was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the 110th Military Police Company stationed in Korea, where he received the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal/Expert Qualification Badge with Rifle Bar and Marksman Qualification Badge with Pistol Bar.

He will always be loved and remembered by his daughter Tammy (Larry) Graham, son Gerald (fiancé Shannon) Britt, former wife Jean Britt, mother of his children.

Sister Peggy (Randy) Grey and brother Robert (Cyndi) Bucher.

Grandchildren Brittany, Derrick, Keileigh, Allie and Landon.

Great-grandchildren Isabella, Sofia, Jacob, Harper, Reagan and Elsie.

Paul will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Bucher; father, Paul Everett Bucher Sr.; and mother mother, Clara Nadell Bucher.

If so inclined, we invite you to make a donation to Tunnel2Towers (T2T) in his honor. In memory of Paul E. Bucher Jr. Recipients email, 4301 St Charles Court, Paducah, KY 42001
