Paul Willard Burton

Paul Willard Burton, 73, of Thebes, died Thursday, Sept. 29, 2022, at Integrity Healthcare of Anna. 

He was born on July 27, 1949, in Cairo, the son of William H. and Mollie Ellen Knupp Burton. 

He married Karen Sue Wilkison on April 12, 1979. She preceded him in death on May 15, 2004.

Mr. Burton is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Adam) Arnold of Olive Branch; three grandchildren, Isaiah, Alexis and Austin Arnold; two great-grandchildren, Owen and Bentlee Hale; siblings Bob (Francis) Burton of Olive Branch, Ronald “Buck” (Jane) Burton of Tamms, Bill Burton of Missouri, David Burton of Tamms, Lela Davis of Olive Branch, Cora Davis of Cobden, Jake (Louise) Burton of Elco, Ruth Ashworth of Hodges Park and Edna Rambeau of Gorham; a close friend and caregiver, Anna Patterson; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Sue Burton; his parents; and siblings, Ed, Charlie, Viola, Fred, Tony, Andrew Gary and Clifford.

He served his community for many years as a pastor. He had a strong faith in Jesus and the power of prayer. He never met a stranger. He enjoyed singing and could play many instruments. He loved spending time with his family and friends.

Funeral services for Paul Burton were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with Steve Pennington officiating. Interment followed in Fayville Cemetery in Olive Branch.
