Peggy Jo Poole, 80, of Jonesboro, died at 5:52 p.m. Thursday, March 8, 2018, at her home.

She was born on Feb. 13, 1938, in Anna, the daughter of Jess Amuel and Ruth L. Spurlock Rushing.

She married Dennis Poole on June 20, 1953, in Jonesboro. He preceded her in death on July 25, 2011.

She is survived by her children, Kenneth (Debbie) Poole of Jonesboro, Jeff (Jane) Poole of Cape Girardeau and Teresa (Terry) Allen of Jonesboro; 12 grandchildren, Keith (Ruby) Poole, Jeremy (Brystal) Poole, Stephanie (John) Casey, Sara (John) Schmitz, Ashley Gruber, Hannah Moore, Sarah Moore, Madeline Poole, Danielle (Joe) Brimm, Joshua Parker, Deann (Joe) Cresto and T.J. Allen; 17 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Riley and Bertha Mae Weiss, both of Anna; one brother, Earnest Rushing of Butler, Mo.; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dennis Poole; a brother, Russell Rushing; and two sisters, Katherine Hill and Margaret Rushing.

She was a member of the Apostolic Faith Tabernacle Church in Jonesboro. She loved her church family and the friends with whom she worshiped.

She worked for over 33 years at the Florsheim Shoe Factory in Anna. After it closed, she went to Cape Girardeau’s factory for eight years before her retirement. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Funeral services for Peggy Jo Poole were at 11 a.m. Monday, March 12, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with Pastor Mark Goins officiating. Interment was in the Jonesboro Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to the Apostolic Faith Tabernacle Church in Jonesboro.
