Phillip Edward ‘Phil’ Zeigler
Phillip Edward “Phil” Zeigler, 81, of Red Bud, was born on July 29, 1935, in Anna, and died Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Red Bud Regional Hospital in Red Bud.
He was a third generation Mason and his son Tony is a fourth generation Mason. He was a member of Emeth Lodge 1030 A.F. & A.M. in Cahokia and he also attended Red Bud Masonic Lodge 427. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He had worked for Wonder Bread, Kas and Lance. He was still working for Home Sweet Home Realty. He enjoyed real classical literature history and movies.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Lillian Zeigler.
He is survived by his son, Anthony “Tony” William Franklin Zeigler; his daughter, Cynthia Ellyn (Patrick) Leffner; his brother, Barry Kent (Wilma) Zeigler; his sister, Charlotte (Carl) Wilkins; other relatives and friends.
Memorials can be made in the donor’s choice.
Funeral services were Monday, March 20, at 11 a.m. at Koch-Liefer Funeral Home in Red Bud, with the Rev. David Krueger, officiating.
Following the services, Mr. Zeigler was cremated and inurnment was planned in the Anna City Cemetery.
Koch-Liefer Funeral Home in Red Bud was in charge of arrangements.
