Phillip William Spencer

Phillip William Spencer, 60, of Villa Ridge, died at  3:49 a.m. Friday, July 15, 2022, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Mr. Spencer was born on Aug. 30, 1961, in Rantoul, the son of James O. and Peggy Ann Harris Spencer.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a design engineer.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Peggy Spencer; and a brother, Matthew Spencer.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Spencer; his father, James O. Spencer; a son, James O. “Joby” Spencer; a brother; George Spencer; a close friend, Mackenzie Beegle; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, at Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge. Pastor Mike Sharp officiated. 

Interment followed in the Mound City National Cemetery in Mound City. Full military honors were accorded by the U.S. Navy burial team and area veterans.
