Randall D. “Randy” Tucker
Randall D. “Randy” Tucker, 74, of Jonesboro, died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2023, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born on Sept. 3, 1949, in Anna, the son of Ralph and Matella J. McIntosh Tucker.
He married Alice Crowell on Aug. 17, 1968, in Jonesboro.
Mr. Tucker is survived by his wife of 55 years, Alice Tucker of Jonesboro; son Kevin (Nicole) Tucker of Jonesboro; grandson Reed Tucker; extended family and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and by a brother, Dennis Tucker.
Mr. Tucker worked for 52 years with the Operating Engineers. After he retired, he went to work for the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, overseeing Dixon Springs State Park in Golconda.
He owned and operated Tucker Trenching. He served as mayor of the City of Jonesboro from May 1995 through May 2005.
He enjoyed fellowshiping with his friends, playing cards and telling stories. He had a love of antique cars and tractors. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandson, Reed.
Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with Bill Littrell officiating. Interment was in the Jonesboro Cemetery.
Memorials can be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
