Richard Lee ‘Dick’ Ring

Richard Lee “Dick” Ring, 87, of Wolf Lake, died Saturday, June 4, 2022, at his home. 

He was born on Oct. 8, 1934, in Wolf Lake, the son of Earl and Ruby Stone Ring. 

He married Joyce Abernathy on Oct. 18, 1952, in Pocahontas, Ark. They celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary last October.

Mr. Ring is survived by his wife, Joyce Ring of Wolf Lake; three children, Earl Ring (Elizabeth Bello Holguin) of Cape Girardeau, Joy (Bob) Henson of Grand Tower and Ricky (Sharon) Ring of Wolf Lake; grandchildren Jason and Ashley Woodard, Brian Ring and Amy Giacomo; great-grandchildren Braden Fritsche, Jacob, Jacey and Chase Woodard, Ryker, Treal and Layla Thies, Mylee and Kash Mikel and Selah Kelley; one great-great grandchild on the way, Hannah Joy Fritsche; a sister-in-law, Margie Abernathy; a niece, Pam Marr; his dear friends, Jack and Beth Thornton; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and by a grandson, Cody Ring.

Mr. Ring was a member of the Ware-Wolf Lake Fire Department for 47 years. He was a member and past master of Jonesboro Masonic Lodge No. 111 since 1956. 

He was a member of the Wolf Lake United Methodist Church and was often called upon to help with projects at the church. He loved his church and the Lord. He and other members of the church would often sing special hymns at their church and others. 

Mr. Ring owned and operated R.L. Ring and Sons Construction, later called R and R Construction. They were responsible for building most of the homes in the Rendleman subdivision in Wolf Lake.

Graveside funeral services for Richard Lee “Dick” Ring will be  at 11 a.m. Thursday, today, at the Jonesboro Cemetery. 

Family and friends can gather from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the cemetery. Masonic rites will be accorded just prior to the funeral service. 

Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro is in charge of arrangements. 

Memorials can be made to the Wolf Lake United Methodist Church or to the Ware-Wolf Lake Fire Department. Envelopes will be available at the cemetery.
