Ricky Freyenberger

Ricky Freyenberger, 66, of Alto Pass, died Friday, Sept. 17, 2021, at Union County Hospital in Anna. 

He was born on Feb. 8, 1955, in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, the son of Lilla Ann Brown. 

He married Myra Brown on July 11, 1987, in Alto Pass.

Mr. Freyenberger is survived by his wife, Myra Freyenberger of Alto Pass; a daughter, Amy (Sonny) Camden of Cobden; a son, Forrest “Bud” Freyenberger of Cobden; grandchildren Colton Camden, Lori Beth Camden and Clayton Camden; great-grandchildren Carter Sims and Caden Hopewell; a brother, Danny (Karen) Freyenberger of Cobden; sisters Debbie Tadlock of Marion and Vickie Roe of Centralia; an aunt, Helen Baxter of Kaiser, Mo.; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his mother; a sister, Sarah Lou Freyenberger; three aunts; one uncle; and his mother-in-law, Esther Irene Brown. 

Mr. Freyenberger served in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. 

He was an accomplished stone mason and had his stonework published in the August 1996 edition of Country Home Magazine. 

He was looking forward to retirement after working many years on the riverboat. He was a generous person and was always willing to help anyone. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. 

Memorial services will be at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, at Dutch Ridge Baptist Church, with the Rev. Cliff Waller officiating. A dinner will be held following the service. 

Memorials can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the American Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice. Envelopes will be available at the church.
