Robert Lee Gore

Robert Lee Gore, 40, of Wolf Lake, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2020, near Whittington.

Mr. Gore was born on July 2, 1979, in Kennett, Mo., the son of Larry and Vicki Dodson Gore.

Mr. Gore is survived by his mother, Vicki (her husband Richie) Tweety of Wolf Lake; his father, Larry (his wife Tiffany) Gore of Anna; three sons, Dalton, Kaleb and Tyler Gore, all of Anna; his brothers, Larry Gore Jr. of Dongola, Jimmy T. Gore of Anna and Samuel D. Gore of Harrisburg; a stepbrother, Willard Allen Blevins III of Anna; two stepsisters, Patsy Suzanne Blevins of Anna and Brittany Michelle Lence of Aurora, Colo.; his grandmother, Roberta Wilcox of Van Buren, Mo.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Mr. Gore was a 1998 graduate of Dongola High School. He was an honorably discharged U.S. Army veteran.

He was a truck driver and was the owner and operator of Gore Trucking in Anna.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and particularly cherished time spent with his sons.  

He attended and encouraged his sons in their activities and sports events.  He was a member of Connect Point Church in Anna.

A memorial service honoring the life of Robert Lee Gore hosted by his church family was conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, at Connect Point Church in Anna. Pastor Steve Guined officiated.

Military honors with a flag presentation were conducted by the Illinois National Guard burial honors detail.  

Following the service, Mr. Gore was accorded a Trucker’s Last Ride Home at 4:30 p.m. from the church to his mother’s residence in Wolf Lake.
