Rosa Lee Bell

Rosa Lee Bell, 85,  of rural Vienna, died Monday, Dec. 4, 2017, at 11:59 p.m. at Massac Memorial Hospital in Metropolis.

She was born on March 24, 1932, in Union County, the daughter of Alex and Lourena Jacobs Davis.

In 1951, she married Raymond Eugene Bell in Jackson, Mo. He preceded her in death on April 17, 2009.

Survivors include her children, Barbara Helen (Daryl) Turner of Anna, Michael Eugene (Teri) Bell of Jonesboro, Raymond Eugene Bell Jr. of Anna, Brenda Lee (Kenneth) Rains of Jonesboro and Dwayne Lee (Carla) Bell of Vienna; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Pauline Neighbors and Faye Eastwood, both of Anna and Patsy Ferguson of Jonesboro; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son,  Howard Bell and seven brothers and sisters.

She had been employed as a private home health care provider.  She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Carroll P. Foster VFW Post No. 3455 in Anna, as well as the Anna Moose Lodge No. 1346.  She was of the Baptist faith.  She enjoyed playing gin rummy and in her youth enjoyed swimming, fishing and camping.  She is remembered for her devotion to her family and cherished spending time with them.

A memorial service honoring the life of Rosa Lee Bell was held Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017, at 1 p.m. at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.  Inurnment was in the Ebenezer Hall Cemetery near Lick Creek.
