Sheilah Ann Whittington
Sheilah A. Whittington, 60, of Anna, died at 12:25 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born on Feb. 15, 1956, in Anna, the daughter of Lawrence and Louise Wall Lazenby.
She married James Whittington on May 6, 1989, in Anna.
She is survived by her husband, James Whittington of Anna; one son, Benjamin Whittington of Anna; two stepdaughters, Tawana Whittington of Dix and Tara (Bernie) Smith of McLeansboro; one step-grandson; a brother, Dewayne (Jean) Lazenby of Burlington, Wis.; a half-brother, Elbert (Shirley) Claridy of Anna; two sisters-in-law, Elenor Claridy of Anna and Dorothy Claridy of West Frankfort; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She worked many years for Blue Cross Blue Shield, as a CNA at the Illinois Veterans Home in Anna and also was a volunteer for Hospice of Southern Illinois.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 6, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna, with the Rev. Scott Harner officiating. Interment will be in the Anna City Cemetery.
Friends can call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, today, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
