Shirley Imogene Sheffer Bennett

Shirley Imogene Sheffer Bennett, 86, of Ooltewah, Tenn., moved into the presence of the Lord on July 15, 2021. 

She was born on Aug. 14, 1934, in Dongola, the daughter of Aaron and Rosetta Sheffer. 

She married Joseph Bennett on Nov. 14, 1952. He preceded her in death on June 23, 2002. 

She is survived by four sons, Steve (Robin) of Ooltewah, Tenn., Phil (Barb) of Sweetwater, Tenn., Tim (Virginia) of Huntley and Mike (Debra) of Lexington, S.C.; two sisters, Rosemary Opperman of Vienna, Mo., and Lois Smith of Anna; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.  

Preceding her in death were Joseph Bennett, her husband of almost 50 years; Shelia Bennett, an infant daughter; and a grandson, Seth Bennett. 

Graveside funeral services for Shirley Bennett will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 24, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Villa Ridge, with her son, Steve, officiating. Interment will follow. 

Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna is in charge of arrangements.
