Sue D. Brumleve
Sue D. Brumleve died on May 25, 2021, after battling Parkinson’s disease.
She was born on Jan. 1, 1934, in Anna, the daughter of Charles and Adonis Parkman Thomas.
She married Wilbert Brumleve on June 8, 1957, in Cobden.
She was active in the community, belonging to the Cobden Women’s Club and serving as secretary and treasurer; assisted in the management of the Cobden Peach Festival Peaches ’n Cream Stand; served on the PAWS Board of Directors, serving as secretary; and belonged to the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Cobden and the St. Ann’s Ladies Sodality.
She graduated from Cobden High School in 1952 and from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 1956.
She was a homemaker her entire life and was very proud of the household that she kept.
She is survived by her son, Patrick of Cobden and daughter, Christina of Nashville, Tenn.; along with a sister-in-law (who she considered a sister), Rosemary Heern of Memphis, Tenn., and brother-in-law Harold Brumleve; with several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and an infant son, John Victor.
Interment will be held privately in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the St. Ann’s Ladies Sodality of the St. Joseph Catholic Church or to PAWS of Union County.
