SueAnn Cantrell DePriest

SueAnn Cantrell DePriest, 73, of Wildwood, Mo., and formerly of Anna, died Friday, Sept. 2, 2022.

She was born and raised in Anna, the daughter of Charles Newton “Newt” and Violet Hankla Cantrell. 

She graduated from Anna-Jonesboro Community High School in 1967. She attended Southeast Missouri State University, where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. In 1971, she graduated with a bachelor of science degree in education, with a major in math. 

After college, SueAnn taught mathematics at Hazelwood East in St. Louis County, Mo., for 14 years and was a sponsor of the varsity cheer leading squad. She later worked for over 20 years as a sales associate at Macy’s.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Bill DePriest; a son, Bryan (Abby Baden) DePriest; and three grandchildren, Molly, Jack and Julie.

A graveside service was held at noon Monday, Sept. 12, at the Anna Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society. 

Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro was in charge of arrangements.
