Susan Ann Fletcher

Susan Ann Fletcher, 72, of Cairo, died at 8:23 a.m. on June 16, 2022, at Integrity Healthcare in Anna.

She was born on July 20, 1949, in Paducah, a daughter of Robert Edward and June Victoria Kamleiter Wildt.  

She married Allen Ray Fletcher on April 9, 1982, in Cadiz, Ky. He preceded her in death on Dec. 10, 2020, after 38 years of marriage.  

Mrs. Fletcher taught special education for Trigg County, Ky., and Cairo schools for many years and was loved by her students.  She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Olmsted.

Survivors include two sons, Ray Fletcher (Tammy Hamilton) of Bumpus Mills, Tenn., and Billy (Penny) Fletcher of Cadiz, Ky.; two grandchildren, Justin Fletcher of Bumpus Mills, Tenn., and Hannah Fletcher of Cadiz, Ky.; her sister-in-law, Sharon Snelson of Cairo; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Allen Ray Fletcher; her sister, Martha June Wildt; and her daughter-in-law, Becky Fletcher.

Funeral services will be at Crain Funeral Home in Cairo on Friday, June 24, at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Michael Kettner officiating. Interment will follow in Mound City National Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday, from 8:30 a.m. until the hour of the service.

Memorials can be made to St. Luke Lutheran Church in Olmsted.  Envelopes will be available and accepted at the funeral home.
