Thomas N. "Tom" Greenwood

Thomas N. "Tom" Greenwood, 80, of Jonesboro, died at 3:29 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at the OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born on April 16, 1936, in Flora, the son of Everett and Nadine Woods Greenwood.

He married Martha Nicholson on Aug. 19, 1956, in Anna.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Martha Greenwood of Jonesboro; three sons and one daughter, Neil (Connie) Greenwood of Mt. Vernon, Chris (Lisa) Greenwood of Marietta, Ga., Tracey Greenwood of Morton and Tim (Gina) Greenwood of Franklin, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, Tom (Wendy) Greenwood, Jonathon Greenwood, Jesse Greenwood, Drew Greenwood, Maya Greenwood, Braydon Greenwood and Maryn Greenwood; two great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Laney Greenwood; one sister, Mary Lou Wright of Fairview Heights; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by one grandson, Brendan Avery Greenwood.

He was a member of Jonesboro First Baptist Church and was fire chief in Jonesboro for many years. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited, a loyal St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan and an avid and talented fisherman. He managed Associated Lumber in Jonesboro until his retirement.

Funeral services for Mr. Greenwood were at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with the Rev. Todd Plunkett and the Rev. Mike Turner officiating. Interment was in the Jonesboro Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to the Jonesboro First Baptist Church.
