Tom Porter
Tom Porter, 69, of Dongola, died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2022, at his residence.
He was born on Dec. 21, 1952, in Santa Cruz, Calif., the son of Al and Nancy Tuthill Coon.
He married Patricia Jean Joplin on Oct. 30, 2010. She survives.
Mr. Porter worked as an automotive tech for 47 years. He loved playing the guitar, especially at church, and fishing. He was a member of Harvest Church in Anna.
Besides his wife, Jeannie, he is survived by his children, Tom Porter, Alyssa Porter, Selah Porter, Lindsey (David) Keene, Westin (Brianna) Meinhold and Jehonathan McCord; grandchildren Tiffany Spurlock, Marley Oschner, Gerald Oschner, Kiera Keene and Waylon Meinhold; a brother, Gary (Judy) Porter; a sister, Kathy Riva; special sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law, his father-in-law and the Harvest Church family; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Nancy Porter; and by his biological father Al Coon.
Cremation rites will be accorded. The family will hold a memorial service Sunday, Sept. 25, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Harvest Church in Anna.
